Once the victim(s) are spiritually fortified, which most of the time takes months, an exorcism can be utilized. Provided that those parties involved can consent to the rite and exorcism can be effective. Exorcism is actually one of the shortest of all the Roman Rituals this is actually for a good reason. The reason for that is because the priest conducting the rite will have to repeat it over and over to make it so unbearable for the demon to stay. The rite will normally be conducted by a priest selected by the bishop, a deacon or laymen who will assist the exorcist. Normally a physician will also accompany the rite to ensure the safety of the victim. The rite will likely take weeks or months to reach deliverance. Although it is important to understand that once a person has been delivered they are highly vulnerable to repeated possession. The Bible tells us this.
