Beginning the Process

In the field of religious demonology there are several distinct signs that are used to determine actual possession. This is important because I get this question often enough that I thought it best to describe the process in detail. The first thing that is done when we are presented with a case is to conduct a series of interviews. Normally the first step is via e-mail and I will e-mail a questionnaire which will tell me things that you missed in your initial contact. So remember the more information I get the shorter the questionnaire and the faster I can help you. Then we will talk one on one over the phone if I determine your case holds water. If you contact me with a bogus story about this and that I'll know. I see enough nutballs to know who's who in the zoo. Next we will determine the extent of your attachment. The next step is to get you to clerical counseling. This is truly the most important phase. Although I push the use of Catholicism if you are already a practicing what ever, I will do my best to accommodate that. However if you are not practicing any other religious faith, I will insist we approach this from a Catholic standpoint. We will work towards fortification and then counseling. We will get you involved with the RCIA program to become a baptized Catholic to complete the Holy Sacraments. Only through an understand of faith, and unity with the blessed sacraments can any spiritual warfare be successful. Next we will begin the secular section. We will get you evaluated by a psychiatrist to determine if you have any pre-existing mental issues. Now that sounds bad but trust me when I tell you that I'll take Bi-Polar disorder over demonic possession any day. Through out this interview phase we will determine underlying factors and basically how this happened.

The Rite of Exorcism

Unfortunately it is extremely difficult to convince the church to intervene in this method. However some times it is un-necessary for those afflicted. Although some may not need it, many do. So what helps is people like me and my group. We will do much of the legwork required to help those involved. Once the victim(s) are spiritually fortified, which most of the time takes months, an exorcism can be utilized. Provided that those parties involved can consent to the rite and exorcism can be effective. Exorcism is actually one of the shortest of all the Roman Rituals this is actually for a good reason. The reason for that is because the priest conducting the rite will have to repeat it over and over to make it so unbearable for the demon to stay. The rite will normally be conducted by a priest selected by the bishop, a deacon or laymen who will assist the exorcist. Normally a physician will also accompany the rite to ensure the safety of the victim. The rite will likely take weeks or months to reach deliverance. Although it is important to understand that once a person has been delivered they are highly vulnerable to repeated possession. The Bible tells us this.

Signs of Possession

The signs of possession are very important. 1) Aversion to religious objects and holy relics.
2)Superhuman or un-natural strength.
3)Speaking in languages the victim could never know.
4)A decrease in personal hygiene.
These are just a few of the signs of demonic possession. Although there are others, they are much more involved and more intense.
