There are many things about the "born again" movement that are actually contradictory to actual Christian doctrine especially in the sense of Evil. This is highly evident in the teachings of the Fundamentalist Baptist. Below listed are some of the common bits of misinformation conceived by the Baptists.
All Ghosts Are Demons- The baptists refuse to acknowledge that there are human spirits haunting this earth. However the fact of the matter is that they do. The reason for this is that baptists refuse to acknowledge the existence of Purgatory. Purgatory is a state of limbo in which a spirit resides prior to crossing over and facing there judgment. Baptists claim there is no biblical support for purgatory however there is. When Jesus was crucified and died he descended into hell to suffer for three days for the sins of man (as in the Nicene Creed). After the third day he rose again and visited the apostles. This is where the idea and notion of purgatory comes from. This is a belief that is shared by protestants all over the world.
"I'm Born Again, I can't become possessed"- This is a total load of feel good garbage. The bible plainly tells us that both the believer and non-believer are vulnerable to influence by the diabolical.
Methodists are by far some of the most difficult people I have ever worked with in this field. They tend to think that Satan is only a fictitious being that was created by man to scare Christians into being good. They believe that evil is an entirely human made situation. They are really diluted in there beliefs and have the most difficult time convincing that they need help.
Episcopals- These are probably the most closely related people to the Catholics in there rites and other types of similarities. However the line is drawn in the extreme leftest and liberal views they have on sexuality and other types of experience. Their overall take on homosexuality is really disturbing especially when dealing with the demonic.
Pentecostals- By far the most extreme group of protestants I have ever worked with. They usually get together, hoot holler, and "speak in tongs" such as was described in the Pentecost of the bible. However actual theological study of the Pentecost shows that the "speaking in tongs" was actually people speaking in Hebrew or Aramaic. Not in the babbling gibberish that many of the Pentecostals do now. The bottom line is they believe that all spirits are either Angles or Demons and that they are all evil and must be expelled. You must always evaluate the source of who is telling you stuff. These are people who drink poison and play with poisonous snakes during there services.
